2010 Olympic & Paralympic Salute

On Monday, April 5 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Olympic Plaza, Calgarians of all ages are invited to wear your Olympic gear, your red mittens and join the 2010 Olympic & Paralympic Salute.

Many of Canada's Olympic and Paralympic team members live and train in Calgary or Alberta. Come celebrate and help recognize our 2010 Olympic and Paralympic athletes, coaches and support staff for their outstanding achievements and contributions to a truly electrifying and memorable Winter Games.

11 a.m. Live entertainment & interactive displays
12 p.m. Salute to 2010 athletes and teams
1:15 p.m. Parade on 8th Ave of Olympians and Paralympians

The official recognition of athletes commences at noon with over 45 of Canada’s 2010 team, including Olympic medalists Jon Montgomery (skeleton), Cheryl Bernard (curling) and Carla McLeod (women's hockey). The event concludes at 1:15 p.m. with a parade down Stephen Avenue to Flames Central.

The 2010 Olympic & Paralympic Salute is presented in partnership between The City of Calgary, Government of Alberta, Canadian Sport Centre(Calgary) and corporate sponsors.
