Centre City takes in everything from the Bow River on the north, to the Elbow River and Stampede Park on the east, and from 17th Avenue on the south, to 14th Street on the west. And everything in between, including all of downtown Calgary, the Beltline, Eau Claire, East Village, Chinatown, and established residential communities on the south side of the CPR tracks. An estimated 120,000 people work in the area, and 30,000 live here, numbers that are expected to increase by as much as 40 percent in the next two decades. Residents, businesses, stakeholder agencies, and other interested Calgarians have worked with The City to develop a comprehensive plan to guide the evolution of Calgary's Centre City. It's a plan in which all Calgarians can and should participate. And it's a plan that will make Calgary's inner core once again the ‘must see, must do' gathering place for all who live, work or visit the city. |
