Mayor Bronconnier and Council believe that Calgarians should have a meaningful voice in the future of their city. So they set in motion two visioning projects - imagineCALGARY and Plan It Calgary – to provide the means by which citizens could make their voices heard, and help define the evolution of their community. Launched in 2005, imagineCALGARY asked Calgarians to envision the kind of city they wanted this to be 100 years from now, and 18,000 contributed their thoughts and suggestions. From this community-led process came goals and targets for a more sustainable city, which were adopted by Council in January, 2007. The next step: adapt these sustainability principles to future land planning. The channel for public input: Plan It Calgary. Related Links
